With Formulayt it is possible to redirect users to another web page on form submission. This article will guide you through the process of setting up a redirect gate for Pardot.

Note that you only need to follow these steps if your account is not using our Fetch form submission method. If your account does use Fetch, Formulayt will handle redirects for you.

Redirect gates work differently to any of the other gate types in Formulayt. Normally when a user submits one of our gates, we post the submission to the receiving platform in the background and let it process away from the main page. The user's browsing session remains on the page where they submitted the form and we replace the form with a thank you message.

With redirect gates however, after a short pause to allow tracking events to register, we actually do a full, synchronous submission. This means the user directed to the receiving platform itself for a second or two along with the full form submission, and the platform then bounces the user to the redirect URL in the same way as it would a thank you page.

It is important to understand therefore, that Formulayt does not handle the redirect itself, instead it is handled within the receiving platform based on a value sent within a relevant form field.

First, create a new hidden field in Formulayt to carry the Redirect URL called success_location. Then set this field to prepopulate from the gate attribute Redirect URL.

You can then push the changes live and set up a test gate.
