Formulayt can send form submissions to Zapier, where they can be used in Zaps to integrate with many other platforms. When integrated with Zapier, submissions are relayed over Formulayt.com's servers before being forwarded to Zapier's servers.
Our Zapier integration uses REST Web Hooks, which is a standard web technology. That means that this integration will work with any other platform that also utilises REST Web Hooks.
Integration requirements
Configuring your Formulayt account
Before you can send form data to Zapier, the integration must first be activated from the Formulayt Apps Area. Please note: as soon as the integration is active, Formulayt will attempt to send all form submissions to Zapier. Therefore, if you don't promptly configure a Zap to capture the data, you will lose form submissions.
You will need:
- Your Formulayt account ID
- Your Formulayt API key. Note that this key must be kept secret and not shared with anyone else other than Zapier and Formulayt. It can be used to access sensitive data within your Formulayt account. If you suspect that your key has been compromised, you should request a new one.
Keep a safe record of these for when you set up your Zap.
Configuring your Zap
- Create a new Zap within Zapier. Select the Formulayt app, and the Form Submission event as your trigger.
- Use the Formulayt account ID and API key that you were provided in the steps above to configure the connection to Formulayt.
- Once connected, be sure to test the trigger. This will pull a sample form submission from Formulayt into Zapier, and will allow Zapier to understand what fields will be included on a form submission. This is important to correctly configure your Action.
- Proceed to configure your action. You can now select a destination platform and use the relevant options to push your form submission data into that platform.
- Make sure you publish your Zap after configuration to allow form submission data to be processed correctly.
- When you first connect your GCDC account to a Zap as detailed above, we will generate and send to Zapier a sample form submission that contains sample test data. In some cases, the formats of the test data may not match what the receiving platform within the Zap is expecting, and this may cause errors during testing your Zap. You can bypass this issue by skipping the final Zap test, but if you do this you must make sure you carry out test submissions with real sample data from a test gate and make sure this is received as expected by the target platform within the Zap.
Important notes
- Once you have activated the Zapier integration on your Formulayt account, your forms will send all submission data over our servers to Zapier. This means any other submission URLs configured on your account will no longer be active. You will need to process all your form submission data from within Zapier.
- Following on from the above, if you don't configure your Zap promptly after activating the Zapier integration, form submission data won't be captured. Users completing your forms will see a "NO_VALID_WEBHOOKS" error message when they try to submit forms.
- Since Formulayt only relays your submission data and does not store any data, it is not possible to retrieve lost submission data.
